Backstitch Alphabet Collection
This backstitch font collection contains 20 complete backstitch alphabet patterns, ideal for personalising any cross stitch or blackwork project. All 20 fonts include all lower case letters, all upper case letters, all numbers and basic punctuation. They are presented in a 24 page PDF booklet, including two blank grids of different sizes to help you chart out your work. The alphabets are all named after British mammals.
The alphabets all use backstitch, and some use fractional backstitch. French knots are used in most of the alphabets in the punctuation and dots of the i's and j's only; not in the other letters or numbers. Cross stitch and fractional cross stitch is used in only one alphabet.
The alphabets vary in size. As a rough guide, the height of the letter 'a' in stitches is as follows for each alphabet:
Hedgehog Alphabet - 1 stitch
European Rabbit Alphabet - 1 stitch
Harvest Mouse Alphabet - 2 stitches
