This listing is to purchase the Baubles and Fairy Lights cross stitch pattern. This was previously run as a stitchalong and is now available as a complete pattern.

This piece is designed to go well with the Snowflakes and Stars cross stitch pattern, and also to be a standalone piece.

The piece uses full cross stitches and full backstitches, and a few fractional backstitches. There are no fractional cross stitches or French knots. The design is a mixture between blackwork and cross stitch. 12 thread colours are used in the design.

The PDF booklets also give lots of information on the design. This includes the thread numbers and suggestions on changing thread colours if you wish to do so, and for incorporating beads. The pattern was designed to be stitched on dark fabric but you can easily change the thread colours to stitch it on pale fabric if you prefer.

The stitched area of the finished piece is: 133 stitches wide x 133 stitches high

On 14 count fabric this is approximately 9.5 x 9.5 inches or 24.1 x 24.1 cm
On 16 count fabric this is approximately 8.3 x 8.3 inches or 21.1 x 21.1 cm
On 18 count fabric this is approximately 7.4 x 7.4 inches or 18.8 x 18.8 cm

These dimensions do not include the border of fabric you will need to leave around the design. I recommend you leave a further 2-3 inches all the way round (which means that you need to add 4-6 inches to your size measurements) - or as much fabric as you need to mount it in the hoop size of your choice, if you want to mount it in a hoop.

The final piece is circular in shape and so can be mounted easily in a hoop. Alternatively, if you prefer to mount it in a frame, that would also look great - it doesn’t have to be in a hoop.

Suggested hoop sizes are:
For 14 count fabric: 11 inch hoop
For 16 count fabric: 10 inch hoop
For 18 count fabric: 9 inch hoop

The pattern was model stitched on 16 count hand dyed fabric from FinnStitcher’s Factory, entitled ‘Night Sky’. This beautiful fabric is available from Kaarina Anttila in Finland via her Facebook page: www.facebook.com/FinnStitchersFactory  The model is displayed in a 10 inch hoop.

You will receive two PDF pattern booklets, one with charts with colour blocks and symbols, and one with black and white symbols (with colour backstitch). Each booklet has a single page chart for screen use, and a split page chart for printing.

You will also receive comprehensive cross stitch instructions.

Can't wait for December

Started the fairy lights this morning. I'm using Sailor's blue from Fabric Flair. So far the colors look great. I can't wait for the SAL to start. Pattern was easy to download. Comes on one page then spread out on 4 to see easier.
