Mini Zodiac Constellations - Astronomy cross stitch patterns
This PDF booklet contains all the instructions and patterns to stitch an accurate set of the twelve major zodiac constellations. The booklets also have information on each constellation and its brightest stars to read as you stitch it.

I have plotted these constellations as accurately as possible. Four different designs are used for the stars. Stars fainter than third magnitude are portrayed as a single cross stitch. Stars of first, second and third magnitude are portrayed in three different styles with added backstitch lines. Explanations about magnitudes are included - no prior astronomical knowledge is needed.
The patterns use two colours. DMC numbers are given but the colours can be changed to anything you like. You could stitch the stars in glow in the dark thread, or in etoile thread, or anything else you prefer.
If stitched on 14 count aida, the patterns fit in 3 inch hoops as shown in the images. They would make fun and unusual decorations for a Christmas tree, or small gifts or cards.
The patterns are suitable for people with some experience of cross stitch.
